Tourism body Experience Kissimmee is reaffirming its commitment to the UK market with its current trade mission and says visitor numbers are now ahead of 2019.

The team and eight suppliers from Kissimmee in Florida are in the UK and Ireland this week hosting various events for the trade, including an agent roadshow in London for around 100 agents.

Speaking to Travel Gossip, Experience Kissimmee Senior Director of International & Domestic Sales Yinglu Tian said the UK trade is ‘hugely important’.

She added: “The trade is always hugely important for us, and we are always looking to meet and work with tour operators and agents in the UK. We’ve changed the format this year for our event to have lunches and a big agent event.

“We know that here in the UK travellers use an agent to book a US holiday and we really appreciate the support.”

Yinglu added UK visitors are still in the top three internationally (behind Canada and Brazil) for Kissimmee, and numbers are above pre-pandemic levels. “As a destination we’ve had a really good two years, in fact it’s been a record-breaking two years and the market is now adjusting.”

Looking ahead, Yinglu said she expects the opening of Universal Orlando Resort’s new theme park, Epic Universe, in 2025 and the arrival of a Nickelodeon Hotel in Orlando in 2026 will see visitors to the destination spike further.
