Former Riverside Luxury Cruises UK boss Stuart Perl has joined the Board of Backwaters Cruising.
Stuart, who was Riverside UK & Ireland, MEA & Australia Managing Director, announced the new role on LinkedIn, saying the cruise operator offers all-inclusive cruise-tours on inland waterways not accessible to traditional river cruise ships.
He spent a year as MD of Riverside Luxury Cruises and left in October 2023. Prior to joining Riverside he had held the roles of MD of AmaWaterways and Marketing Director at Cunard,
Backwaters Cruising founder and CEO Lynn Woods said: “Stuart Perl has joined the Board to help us develop brand awareness and to steer marketing strategy. Stuart’s wealth of cruise industry experience will be hugely valuable as we prepare for a restart to operations in 2025.”
The company was launched in 2017, closed during the pandemic and now has plans to re-start, initially with UK river cruises in 2025, followed by Europe operations.
