Air Astana will resume its direct flights between Kazakhstan’s capital Nur-Sultan and Heathrow on 18 September after 16 months.

The carrier was forced to suspend the service in April 2020 because of COVID, although it did offer connections to the UK via Frankfurt throughout the pandemic.

Flights will initially operate on Saturdays and Wednesdays, with return economy fares starting at £511.

Passengers travelling to Kazakhstan are required to present a negative COVID-19 test taken 72 hours prior to entering the country.
