A man who was wanted in connection with two raids on World Travel Lounge in Fleetwood, Lancashire, has been arrested by police.

In a Facebook post today, police said they had apprehended the man in Blackpool today after issuing an appeal for information on his whereabouts yesterday. They had issued the name, description and a photograph of the wanted man.

World Travel Lounge MD David McDonald had told Travel Gossip yesterday how he had been left ‘frustrated and a little bit shaken up’ by the two robberies on the Fleetwood store, during which thousands of euros had been stolen.

The robber – or his accomplice – had later allegedly tried to exchange the euros at other World Travel Lounge stores in neighbouring towns, and at other travel agencies.

Following the multiple raids, World Travel Lounge has temporarily closed its stores in Fleetwood, Cleveleys and Blackpool and staff are working remotely.

Police thanked the public for their help in locating the wanted man, saying on Facebook: “Thank you for your help in sharing our appeal.”
