Why visit just one US city or state when you can combine several into one trip?
Popular combinations include New York, Miami and Los Angeles; San Francisco, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon; Chicago, Nashville and New Orleans; and Seattle, Yellowstone National Park and Denver.
These multi-centre combinations offer a diverse mix of city experiences, natural beauty, culture, and entertainment, it says.
For a multi-centre that doesn’t involve any internal flights, Travelpack recommends an 11-night Memphis, New Orleans, Atlanta and New York City package, which costs from £1,999 in May 2024, with train travel between the cities.
With clients increasingly wanting to squeeze more destinations into their holiday, Gold Medal says its Gold Triangle of San Francisco, Las Vegas and Los Angeles is a popular combination, including legendary attractions such as Alcatraz, The Hollywood Walk of Fame and the bright lights and desert city of Vegas all in one trip.
Clients can easily fly between the cities, or, if they can spare the time, they can drive along the Pacific Coast Highway and add a couple of stops on the way. The trip costs from £1,559pp in April 2024 for nine nights.
Kuoni features 28 ready-made multi-centre combinations in its North America programme, such as San Francisco and Hawaii, New York and Miami or Chicago and Washington DC and Boston.
For something a little less obvious, maybe for repeat visitors, Kuoni suggests combinations such as New York and Nashville, Chicago and New Orleans or Los Angeles and Hawaii.
Newmarket Holidays has more than a dozen multi-centre options, such as Hollywood, Vegas and the Grand Canyon, from £1,871 per person for 10 days; Elvis Presley’s Memphis, New Orleans and Nashville from £2,169 for nine days; and New England in Fall, from £2,228 for nine days.
British Airways Holidays suggests a city-beach combo in the summer, starting in Boston before heading to Cape Cod on the coast, or in the autumn, it recommends twinning Boston with a trip to Salem, Portsmouth and the White Mountains to see the famous Fall foliage. In winter, visitors can spend time in the city before heading to the slopes of Vermont, where they’ll find some excellent skiing in Stowe.
