Travel businesses from all sectors have been posting job opportunities on Travel Gossip’s Facebook group following news of recent high-profile company closures.
Dozens of companies and individuals have responded after Travel Gossip Managing Director Bruce Martin asked people to get in touch if they had vacancies.
His rallying cry follows news of the recent closures of Luxtripper, James Villas and Online Travel Training.
Bruce said: “We’ve had a run of bad news recently with three well-known travel industry brands ceasing trading: Luxtripper, James Villas and now Online Travel Training (OTT).
“Lots of good travel people have been impacted and they are no doubt looking for new jobs.
“We’re asking businesses to feel free to post current vacancies in the Travel Gossip Facebook group so we can help get these brilliant people back working in our amazing industry.”
Companies that have posted vacancies include Enable Holidays, based in Birmingham; Villa Plus in St Albans; Fred. Olsen Travel Agents, Etihad Holidays, Youtravel, Classic Collection, Baldwins Travel, Crystal Cruises and Newmarket Holidays.
Other companies have posted opportunities in Bristol, Matlock, Northampton and Cheltenham, among others, as well as homeworking positions.
Recruitment specialist Gail Kenny Recruitment and training company AS Training also want to hear from anyone affected by the recent company closures.
Bruce said he has been astounded by the response, adding: “I had a little tear in my eye reading all these comments this morning. “What an amazing community we have in the travel industry. Thank you.
“And isn’t it great to see so many vacancies nowadays?”
