French authorities have begun an investigation after a Transavia France Boeing 737 suffered substantial structural damage while landing at Nantes airport at the weekend.
The runway was closed for two hours, with services slowing resuming after 4pm local time on Saturday.
As the aircraft touched down, damage was caused to its nosegear tyres, landing gear and fuselage, according to reports.
Aviation Herald said the 737 was landing ‘when both nose tires were damaged, causing the aircraft to roll out on the nose wheel rims’.
There were no reports of injuries among the 160 people onboard.
The Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA) has launched an investigation into the incident.
