The weekly Sunday service from London to Hanoi, which started in March is operated by a modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner in a three-class configuration including economy, premium economy, and business class with flat beds.

A Wednesday service from London to Ho Chi Minh City will start on 7 December.
Nguyen Manh Quan, CEO of Bamboo Airways said: “The nonstop services to London Gatwick Airport are the next step in our expansion plan to the UK market which is considered a crucial gateway to Europe, thereby promoting the connectivity to other continents. We hope the sense of hospitality and international-oriented services of Bamboo Airways will win passengers’ trust and confidence while making a name for Vietnamese aviation.”
Who is Bamboo Airways?
Launched four years ago, Bamboo Airways is the newest Vietnamese international airline and the first of the country’s private airlines to operate the Dreamliner aircraft.
It is also the most punctual of the country’s carriers, a title it has held since its launch in 2019. During the first eight months of this year, an impressive 95% of its flights operated on time, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
Known for its affordable flights, it also caters to business travellers with facilities such as private business lounges.
Bamboo also has ambitious plans to triple the size of its fleet of western aircraft from 29 now to 100 by 2030, making it bigger than its competitors, Vietnam Airlines and VietJet. At the same time, it is looking to grow its domestic and worldwide network.
