Clients looking for something different to do in Orlando should consider watching a home game at the Amway Center, to see the Orlando Magic basketball team. Tickets are available now, as the season runs from October to April.
What is it?
The Orlando Magic is a professional basketball team based in Orlando, Florida, which competes in the National Basketball Association (NBA). You don’t have to be a sports enthusiast to enjoy the action as this is edge-of-your-seat excitement and entertainment with fun for all ages and very much a family-friendly event.
Where?
The Orlando Magic play their home games at the Amway Center, a big arena in downtown Orlando about 15-20 minutes drive from the major theme parks. As parking can be tricky, Uber, Lyft or taxi is the most convenient way to get there.
What to expect
Games generally last about two and a half hours, although in some cases, mainly due to playing overtime, they can last three hours. Make sure to get there at least an hour and a half before as there’s so much to do before the game actually starts. Generally, before every Orlando Magic game the fun begins outside the Amway Center with Fan Fest, where the whole family can get in the spirit with live music, interactive activities, face painting and basketball hoops for the children to shoot at.
Once inside, younger children can have fun at STUFF’s Magic Castle (named after the Orlando Magic mascot) located on the promenade level of the concourse.
Before the match, you will experience a sensational light and video show as well as half time performances that feature unbelievable talent. Be ready to catch gifts which are thrown into the crowd!
There are several unique bars and restaurants to choose from, featuring mouth-watering options from fine dining to traditional game day food such as pizza, hot dogs, pretzels, ice cream and drinks – there are lots of choices for children too.
Only small clutch bags are accepted, so don’t bring any rucksacks or large bags as you won’t be allowed in.
When?
Experience the thrills of super-charged action during the season, from October to April, as the Orlando Magic take on the biggest teams in the NBA. See matchups against teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks and others in the Amway Center – a state-of-the-art sports facility featuring interactive fan areas, the tallest scoreboard in the NBA, and a restaurant that overlooks the court. The Orlando Magic 2023-2024 home game schedule is now available and the first of three preseason games start on 17 October 2023 and run through to 14 April 2024.
