Guests travelling to Orlando should ensure family-friendly attractions Wonderworks, Gatorland and Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures are all on their itineraries.
WonderWorks
WonderWorks, the upside-down adventure, is a science-focused indoor amusement park for the mind that holds something unique and exciting for visitors of all ages.
Guests enter through an upside-down lobby with the ceiling at their feet and the ground above their head and must pass through an inversion tunnel to turn right side up.
There are three floors of non-stop ‘edu-tainment’, with over 100 hands-on and interactive exhibits that serve a STEM educational purpose to challenge the mind and spark the imagination.
Fan favourites include Wonder Coasters, the Bubble Lab, laser tag and ropes course, while there are newer attractions such as PlayBox, Touch N’ Go wall, and more.
WonderWorks is also home to The Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show, Orlando’s longest running dinner show. This show combines magic, improv comedy, audience participation and more to bring families a night they won’t forget. Dinner includes unlimited pizza, salad, dessert, beer, wine and soda.
The attraction celebrates 25 years in the Orlando area this year, with new attractions and new labs, such as a digital ball wall and Route 66 travelling exhibit.
The team will also host science labs throughout the day to help educate guests in an entertaining and engaging way. WonderWorks routinely develops new labs to elevate the educational components of each visit.
Gatorland
Originally opened as a roadside attraction in 1949, Gatorland is celebrating its 74th anniversary this year.
This park provides affordably priced family fun featuring thousands of alligators and crocodiles, breeding marsh with observation tower, popular capybara encounter, free-flight aviary, nature walk, petting zoo, educational wildlife programmes, Florida’s best train ride and splash park.
Exciting shows include Gator Jumparoo, Alligators – Legends of the Swamp, and Up-close Encounters, while adventure experiences inside the park include the Screamin’ Gator Zip Line and Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure.
New for 2023 is the thrilling Croc Rock, a three-in-one adventure combining rock climbing, a chain bridge crossing, and ziplining over a 350ft distance.
If you’re not quite ready to scale a 32ft rock face, don’t worry! Gatorland offers the Capybara Encounter, where you can meet and feed the world’s largest rodent!
Jerry, Mochi, and Boba are friendly and a delight to interact with. The experience is available every day except Wednesdays.
