Long-established European river cruise operator A-ROSA has raised its Premium All-Inclusive offering to another level for 2023, making it more immersive, more authentic and more inclusive than ever before.

The upgrade follows the launch of its newest flagship, the four-deck A-ROSA SENA on the northern Rhine in spring of 2022.

And to help agents bring in the bookings, the cruise line has Wave discounts of £800 per couple on seven-night cruises and free UK airport lounge access on every booking, plus you’ll earn a £50 Love2Shop voucher for every sale up to 31 January next year.

Here are more details of what A-ROSA is offering for 2023:

For foodies

One of the delights of river cruising is sampling new tastes and flavours, so it’s fabulous to hear that A-ROSA will source fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and regional specialities from European suppliers where possible, including local markets.

Guests will get the chance to sample local cuisine at pop-up culinary events, like BBQs on the sun deck, and they’ll be able to really get under the skin of destinations with immersive city tours, followed by a local dinner using seasonal specialities.

In addition to the extensive gourmet buffets and à la carte dinner options on every ship, A-ROSA SENA has a dedicated à la carte restaurant, SENA GRILL, serving up prime steak and seafood. The RIVERSIDE area offers al fresco dining and, on warmer days, guests can enjoy a drink on A-ROSA SENA’s vast sun deck at the new UP & DOWN bar, ingeniously designed to magically disappear into the deck when sailing under low bridges.

For families

A-ROSA SENA is unique among river cruise ships, having created a family offering that will wow kiddies and their parents. Family cabins, sleeping up to five, are a joy for small children, with bunkbeds in a snug alcove and a cute little desk area, plus plenty of space to play and a spacious shower room with two sinks.

All the family rooms are located in one corridor, so families don’t need to worry about their offspring disturbing others, and there’s a fabulous, large kids club at the end. Children 15 and under stay in a family cabin for free.

Of the two heated pools on deck, one is for children.

The service

All guests will be offered free room service, and they’ll be able to better plan their cruise with the A-ROSA app, which is packed with useful information.

The entertainment

A-ROSA has added optional unique experiences in each destination, such as a tour of Vienna’s grandest coffee houses, a picnic in Paris’s artistic district of Montmartre, and a private hike through a German vineyard.

More active guests might like to take a bike tour, or why not suggest they book one of the special interest cruises, such as the seven-night ‘Douro Gourmet’ with visits to a quinta, the ‘Capture the Rhine’ photography cruise, or the ‘Journey Into Inner Peace’ wellness itinerary?

In the evenings, guests will be entertained with up to two performances a week by local artists – guests can expect highlights like live music concerts and traditional dancing.

Relaxation onboard

Guests can choose from a range of optional treatments available in A-ROSA’s onboard spas, from manicures to massages to facials, or they can simply relax in the sauna.

On A-ROSA SENA, the spa has been upgraded to include a whirlpool, steam room and an ice grotto, in addition to two treatment rooms and a chill-out area. The gym on A-ROSA SENA has also been supersized   it’s well equipped and there’s plenty of space for fitness classes too.

Green credentials

It’s more important than ever for cruise lines to show their green credentials, so you’ll be pleased to hear that A-ROSA is developing a long-term sustainability strategy in conjunction with the renowned Fraunhofer Institute ISI.

A-ROSA SENA is the most climate-friendly ship on European rivers and its hybrid-powered engine means it can quietly slip in and out of ports with no emissions.

Across the fleet, A-ROSA are working towards a fresh new dining scene where many in-season fruits, vegetables, meat and fish products will be sourced within Europe. It means assured standards, more emphasis on of-the-season cuisine, and more money in the pockets of local economies.

The off-ship experience highlights the value of guests immersing themselves in local life too. In key ports, knowledgeable Destination Scouts will share tips and pointers to help guests get off the beaten track and explore the authentic side of a destination. And longer stays in port will enable them time to experience it to the full. It’s a win-win for guest experience and keeping the communities A-ROSA visit vibrant and thriving.

A-ROSA has scooped the coveted Green Award for several members of the fleet, recognising the brand’s great strides in environmental protection.
