Adventure tour operator Wild Frontiers has added a new tour to its Uzbekistan portfolio, in response to increased demand for the country.

The new option takes in Tajikistan in addition to Uzbekistan, which is one of the operator’s top-selling destinations for 2023.

Wild Frontiers founder and CEO Jonny Bealby said: “Uzbekistan is the ultimate Silk Road destination, lying halfway across the ancient trade route.

The turquoise domed mosques, madrassahs and towering minarets of its great cities highlight the wealth which once flowed through it, bringing history alive.

Exploring the intricate architecture, narrow alleyways and busy bazaars of Samarkand, Khiva and Bukhara are some of travel’s most rewarding experiences.

It’s also a great combination country – many of our travellers are combining Uzbekistan with one of its neighbouring Stans, such as the rural nomadic beauty of Kyrgyzstan or the majestic Pamir mountains of Tajikistan.”

The new 13-day Uzbekistan & Tajikistan: Samarkand & The Fan Mountains group tour costs £2,895, including accommodation, transport, all meals, expert team guides and entrance fees, but does not include air fares.
