Intrepid Travel has launched a new portfolio dedicated to rail travel with 40 trips and three brand-new itineraries.
The tour operator has launched the range in response to a rise in demand, with data from its recent survey showing 92% of UK travellers plan to take the train on their next trip.
It also reflects Intrepid’s sustainable plans to offer lower-carbon options and where possible, flight-free travel, with four itineraries departing from London via Eurostar.
The brand-new itineraries include an 11-day Trans-Mongolian Railway Adventure from Beijing to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, a 15-day Paris to Budapest journey following the same route as the historic Orient Express, and a 10-day Paris to Rome by Rail, which includes travel on the Gotthard Panorama Express through Switzerland.
Intrepid will also offer routes such as Bangkok to Southern Thailand, and lesser-known journeys in India, as well as family options from Tokyo to Kyoto and Rome to Pompeii.
Each rail trip will be accompanied by one of Intrepid’s local leaders and the average group size will be 10-12 travellers.
