Great Rail Journeys has launched a new 16-day tour featuring a trip on the Maharajas’ Express train in India.
The tour includes visits to Delhi, Jaipur and Shimla and finishes with an eight-day journey on the Maharajas’ Express, which includes 24-hour butler service.
Travellers can stay in double or twin-bed cabins with wi-fi, TV and air conditioning on the train.
The full itinerary includes a tour around Old Delhi, a seven-course tasting menu at 19th century mansion Haveli Dharampura, and an early morning drive through Ranthambore National Park.
Passengers can also take a tour of Jaipur’s City Palace, visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise and travel on a boat on the Ganges river.
The itinerary includes overnight stays in upgraded rooms and suites in hotels in India.
Prices, with return flights from Heathrow to Delhi, start from £10,995 per person, based on the departure on 21 September 2024.
