Fred. Holidays has launched three new no-fly trips that combine rail, cruise and self-drive.
The operator highlighted the new tours today (22 April) to coincide with Earth Day and to promote environmental initiatives.
Fred. Holidays is offering two cruise itineraries, which both start with a transatlantic crossing from Southampton.
The first is a 65-night ‘Canada & USA by Rail & Sea’ tour which sets sail on 27 August 2025. Departing on Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 and sailing to New York, the trip then features a stay in the city before taking the train to Toronto, the Rockies, Vancouver, the Grand Canyon, Chicago, Memphis, New Orleans, Georgia, Washington DC and back to New York to sail across to Southampton with Cunard. This trip is priced from £9,995 per person.
The second is a 28-night ‘Transatlantic & Fall Colours River Cruise’ which departs on 26 September 2025 and includes the crossing on Queen Mary 2 followed by a seven-night Hudson River cruise on the American Cruise Lines American Star from New York to Boston. The return journey is another Atlantic sailing with Cunard. Prices from £8,889pp.
Closer to home, Fred Holidays is offering a five-night ‘The Dordogne: Rocamadour by Rail & Drive’ trip on various dates in 2024 and 2025. Guests will take a roundtrip train from London and pick up a hire car at Brive-la-Gaillarde station to explore Rocamadour and its ancient buildings. Prices start from £899pp based on 29 October 2024 departure.
