1. INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT FROM YOU ON WWW.TRAVELGOSSIP.CO.UK
We will collect and process the following data about you:
- Name, email, employer, password (ONLY for those users wishing to post event details to the website)
- If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
- Details of your visits to our site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.
- We will collect information about the device you use to visit our website including your IP address (where available) and your country of residence (where available). This helps us prevent access from some non-UK countries in order to reduce the number of cyber attacks we receive. The data were collect does not identify any individual.
To better understand your use of the www.travelgossip.co.uk we use Google Analytics which places cookies on your computer to collect information on our behalf. When you visit www.travelgossip.co.uk, a cookie containing a value that uniquely identifies you to www.travelgossip.co.uk is sent to your browser and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Nothing valuable is collected such as your secure information, such as credit card and payment details or password. However, we use the cookies to collect the following information: visits, page views, average time on site, referrals. All information collected by these cookies is sent to www.travelgossip.co.uk by secure connection. These third-party providers are prohibited from using our data for any other purposes. All information will be retained as long as necessary.
3. SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNICATION
We also use Facebook Pixels to monitor visitors our website. This enables us to retarget visitors to this page with a follow-up sales message regarding our advertising options.
We also run social media campaigns via our Facebook Page, Instagram Profile and Twitter Profile for Travel Gossip and our clients. We do this to target users based on their previous activity on our ads (using a Facebook Custom Audience) and via other targeting means i.e. interest in travel. If you do not wish to be served targeting adverts from Travel Gossip please contact us on email@example.com and we can prevent this from happening for you.
4. MAILING LISTS
Our website includes some links to allow you to register to emails from Travel Gossip. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to keep you in-the-loop about upcoming travel events; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry-standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. When people request to join the Travel Gossip group on Facebook we ask them if they would like to sign up to our weekly events email. If you provide us with an email address we will add this to our Mailchimp account and Mailchimp will ask you if you are sure you want to sign up (double-opt-in).
5. WHERE WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA
The only personal data (name, email, password) we collect is that of those wishing to add/edit travel events onto the website. This data is held securely on our website. Our website is backed up to ‘the cloud’ which means that this data along with other data which relates to users but does not identify them is held in online storage.
6. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION
We reserve the right to disclose your personal information when required to do so by law to comply with judicial proceedings, court order or legal process or with an actual or proposed corporate transaction involving the business or when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, or the rights, property or safety of others.
7. LINKS ON OUR WEBSITE
Our website contains links to other websites e.g. event organisers. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.

We will only process your data for marketing purposes where you have given express consent to us to do so or where there is a legitimate interest for us to do so. Event information is submitted by members of the travel industry. Event submission is open and not checked by Travel Gossip. By using our website you agree to not hold us liable for any issues relating to events listed on our website including but not limited to: wrong information, illegal information, illness or other hardships as a result of attending events.
