Wizz Air has become the latest airline to insist crew members are vaccinated for COVID-19.
The carrier says it is ‘being a socially responsible airline’ and ‘is implementing this policy as part of its commitment to protecting the health and safety of its passengers and crews, as well as to supporting smooth and continued operations of its flights in the long term’.
The requirement comes into effect on 1 December. In ‘special cases’ Wizz Air will carry out regular antigen or PCR testing instead.
CEO Jozsef Varadi said: “Our number one priority is the health and safety of our passengers and employees. We have a responsibility to protect crew and passengers on board by mitigating the risks of COVID-19, and vaccines play a vital role in this.”
