Wizz Air is launching four new routes from Gatwick, taking its number of destinations over the summer to 25.

The carrier will begin operating to Venice on March 27, followed two days later by twice-weekly departures to Palermo.

Two Bulgarian cities will then join the network from June 13 and 16 respectively, with Wizz Air operating five times a week to Varna and four to Burgas.

The expansion follows Wizz Air’s acquisition of 15 daily slot pairs at Gatwick and the launch of 14 new routes from spring 2022.

Wizz Air UK Managing Director Marion Geoffroy said: “Today marks another important step in our continued expansion at Gatwick, following the announcement of our acquisition of new slots at the airport.

“We have continued to call for the full reinstatement of the original 80:20 slot usage rules and welcome the Government’s recent decision to adjust the ratio to 70:30, so we can continue to take up new market opportunities and provide even more low-fare opportunities.”
