Windstar Cruises has announced it will embark on a ‘multi-year, multi-million dollar’ refit of its three sailing yachts over the next two years.
The refurbishment has begun on Wind Star with a refresh of many of the public areas including opening up the lobby, redesigning and adding new furnishings to the lounge and an expanded pool deck with a new pool, jacuzzi and new furniture.
New televisions are being added to every cabin and additional wifi access points will provide a stronger connection to the Starlink internet. A second phase, which will include a makeover for remaining staterooms and dining venues, will take place in 2026.
Wind Spirit will be fully re-modelled in 2025, while Wind Surf will be in two phases – in 2024 and 2026. Again, the project will include a full redesign of all public spaces with new layouts, furniture, wall and floor coverings, lighting and art. Staterooms and suites will be fully refurbished, too.
Windstar’s Vice President of Hotel Operations and Product Development Stijn Creupelandt said: “This multi-year, multi-million-dollar initiative is all about providing guests with updated spaces that inspire relaxation, foster connection and offer multifunctional needs of an intimate sized sailing yacht.
“Spending time on our yachts is all about moments of connection, whether that be guest to guest or guest to crew, and we want to make sure our spaces reflect that desire.”
