Just a Drop is calling on industry colleagues to mark World Health Day by raising much-need funds to provide clean water and sanitation to deprived communities.
The charity has invited some of the biggest travel companies, their employees and families and friends to walk, swim, boat or cycle the 42,700 miles of river, canals and inland waterways in the UK on the week of 7 April as part of its Back with a Splash fundraiser.
Individuals are being asked to donate £5 each to take part in the event, while companies are invited to create their own JustGiving page to raise funds and encourage more colleagues to take part.
Advantage Travel is one of the first to sign up for the challenge.
Just a Drop will chart the number of miles covered by each company over the week and keep its JustGiving page updated.
“There is no doubt the past two years have been incredibly difficult for everyone in the travel industry. As we begin to see a light at the end of a very long tunnel, as industry professionals, we have the opportunity to re-set our goals and to embrace new, sustainable and more positive ways to conduct our business,” said Just a Drop founder and CEO Fiona Jeffery.
“We encourage our travel colleagues to come Back with a Splash and to support our efforts to make real improvements in the lives of individuals in the world’s most deprived communities.”
