A forest fire in the north-east of Tenerife has led to the evacuation of several villages.
Firefighters battled the blaze overnight and this morning water-carrying aircraft were expected to arrive to douse the flames.
The TF-24 highway between Las Lagunetas and El Portillo and the TF-523 at Carretera Los Loros were closed this morning and nearby villages evacuated as a precautionary measure.
The fire has been declared as a Level 2 emergency.
