The latest series of BBC’s The Apprentice injected some much-needed fun back into the travel industry when two teams of 16 would-be entrepreneurs were instructed to come up with a name, logo, advert and social media campaign for a new cruise line.
The episode was filmed on the Scarlet Lady, the flagship of Virgin Voyages, whose team was later asked to judge the results.
When the women’s team came up with the name ‘Bouji Cruises’, Twitter went bonkers with users asking what the heck ‘bouji’ means (def: middle-class, snobbish, pretentious) – but it was the logo that the men’s team came up with for their cruise line ‘Never Ending Nautical’ that caused the most hilarity.

In the end, the women’s team – which was led by a former Virgin Holidays cruise consultant Kathryn Burn – won.

“We look forward to working with a new cruise line member soon…#Bouji”, quipped CLIA UK Director Andy Harmer.
