Virgin Voyages’ first ship, Scarlet Lady, is to undergo a refurb, including upgraded dining experiences and more suites.
Several Sea Terrace cabins on deck 11 will be converted into 24 ‘Seriously Suite’ RockStar Quarters, the most popular of the cruise line’s suite categories, with king-size bed, records and vinyls, a stocked bar and a Virgin Voyages Yellow Leaf hammock.
Razzle Dazzle, which currently offers a veggie-friendly brunch, will introduce a new evening concept, Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle, with a Chinese-inspired menu and craft cocktails.
There will be bookable VIP cabanas on Aquatic Deck; Grounds Club Too, the coffee bar in The Galley food hall, will become a cocktail bar in the evening; The Wake steak and seafood restaurant will be adapted to display its collection of high-end wines; the Redemption Spa will have a couples treatment room and Scarlet Lady will have a new mermaid image on its bow.
Vice President of Fleet Experience Nicole Huang said: “We’re listening and giving travellers more of what they’ve asked for – this includes more suites, luxe new cabanas and fresh, vibey dining concepts – so Sailors can truly live the life of a rockstar.
“Our Massive Suite is often booked a year or more in advance. We’re answering in a big way by adding suites, so more people can live their best lives.”
The ship will go into dry dock from 14-28 November for the upgrade.
Once renovations have been carried out, Scarlet Lady will set off on a 16-night trans-Atlantic journey from Rome to Miami to sail six- and eight-night Caribbean itineraries.
