Virgin Atlantic has bolstered its commercial team with the appointment of British Airways UK and Ireland Head Of Sales Luke Goggin as Vice President Of Global Sales.

He will replace Lee Haslett, who has moved to Greek cruise operator, Celestyal Cruises.

Luke, who will join Virgin in August, will be responsible for global sales performance, working with joint venture partners Delta Air Lines, Air France and KLM, and exploring growth opportunities.

Rachel Wilton, Head Of Sales Operations, will hold the position of Interim Vice President Of Global Sales until Luke joins.

Meanwhile, Liz Mathews will join Virgin Atlantic Holidays as Vice President in March. She previously held the role of Retail Managing Director at Flight Centre UK and led the company through the pandemic.

Chief Commercial Officer Juha Jarvinen said: “I’m looking forward to welcoming Luke and Liz to these two crucial roles in our commercial team.

“Luke will bring a wealth of airline corporate sales experience and strong insights into the dynamics of airline account management, joint ventures and sales operations.

“Liz has a very strong track record in travel industry leisure sales. Both will now play a critical part in delivering for our customers, supercharging our revenue growth ambitions, and delivering our vision of becoming sustainably profitable and the most loved travel company.”
