New independent specialist SPL Villas has begun selling through travel agents this month after launching last year as direct-sell.

The company offers more than 900 villas in Mediterranean destinations, including Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Turkey.

It has appointed a trade partnerships manager Anne Clays for its trade launch to engage with agents and help with training.

The villa specialist has also developed an agent training module and an agent portal so agents can see the exact commission they will earn on each villa.

In addition to its standard 10% on all bookings, SPL said it will run a number of booking incentives throughout the year.

It is also planning fam trips to showcase its product to agents.

MD Edward Frampton–Fell said: “Launching to the trade has been part of our business plan and strategy from day one as we know how important travel agent support is to any travel business.

“We have spent the past 15 months establishing our brand and growing our product portfolio and team to a level where we thought our offering would appeal to travel agents.

“We started off with just 300 villas back in January last year – we now sell over 900.  Our extensive portfolio of Mediterranean villas combined with our new agent partnerships manager, agent training module and agent portal, now position us as a strong villa partner for travel agents looking to find their clients the perfect villa holiday to meet all their wants and needs.

“We are really looking forward to working closely with our agent friends and providing them with knowledge, support and of course booking rewards.”
