Protected Trust Services has confirmed that Warrington-based US specialist Florida Direct, which also traded as USA Direct, has ceased trading.

Customers have received an email saying the business is no longer operating and that all bookings are being taken over and handled by PTS, which Florida Direct/USA Direct was a member of.

The email added: “PTS are going through all bookings in travel date order, and will be contacting you in the next 10 days to advise procedure etc.”

The north-west business operated as a tour operator and agency and was licensed to carry around 1,000 passengers. Companies House records show Florida Direct’s Secretary Marion Healey and Directors Joshua Daniel Healey and Lydia Anne Healey stepped down on 30 October.

PTS CEO Daniel Landen said: “Protected Trust Services (PTS) are aware that Florida Direct Ltd ceased trading on 31October 2023. 

“Consumer protection is of paramount importance to PTS. If customers believe they may be affected, they are urged to reach out to us at [email protected]. Our PTS team is working with those impacted to address and resolve their concerns.

“Our unwavering commitment remains to our partners and consumers. We will do our utmost to ensure that every traveller sees their booking fulfilled or refunded.”
