A flight full of British holidaymakers travelling to Tenerife was forced to divert to Porto Santo when a fight broke out onboard.

Multiple passengers were removed by police when the plane, travelling from Manchester, touched down on the Portuguese island.

It then continued to Tenerife.

One passenger who told the Manchester Evening News that she was an innocent witness to a fight between two female passengers was attacked by one of them who allegedly pulled out a clump of her hair.

The woman also said she suffered a ‘busted lip’ after her face was knocked against a seat.

In a statement to the MEN, Ryanair said: “This flight from Manchester to Tenerife (18 Sept) diverted to Porto Santo after a small number of passengers became disruptive inflight. The aircraft landed safely, and these passengers were removed from the aircraft by local police before it continued to Tenerife.”
