British Airways and a number of other airlines were forced to cancel some UK and European flights today due to freezing fog.

London City Airport confirmed 13 cancellations this morning and many other flights to and from the Docklands Airports were delayed.

British Airways, one of the worst affected airlines, was also forced to cancel a handful of domestic and European flights to and from London’s Heathrow Airport.

In a statement, BA said: “Like other airlines, we’ve had to make a small number of changes to our schedule today due to Air Traffic control restrictions resulting from fog in the London area.

“We’ve apologised to customers whose flights have been affected and our teams are working hard to get them to their destinations as quickly as possible.”

Some flights to and from London Luton Airport were also delayed this morning.
