Uber users will be able to collect Avios points on every journey they book via the app by linking their British Airways Executive Club and Uber accounts.

From later this month, members of the airline’s loyalty programme will receive one Avios for every pound spent on any journey.

Points will be awarded for rides by car, coach or train, booked on the Uber app in the UK.

Avios can be used to pay in part for flights, upgrades and extras.

Members who link their accounts will receive a bonus 250 Avios.

BA partners Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling and Qatar Airways are also part of the Avios programme.
