InterContinental has confirmed that two tourists in their early twenties were found dead in one of its hotels in Bali.

The pair had been staying in room 4223 of the InterContinental Bali Resort in Jimbaran since Sunday evening, according to online reports.

On Monday morning, the 25-year-old woman was found dead in the bathroom and the man, aged 22, was found just outside the room, in the hotel corridor.

The woman had neck wounds and the man had wounds to his leg and neck.

In a statement, the hotel said: “We are saddened that two guests of the hotel passed away while staying with us.

“The relevant authorities were notified immediately. We are working closely with the authorities to assist in every way we can and send our sincerest condolences to the guests’ family and friends.”

The woman, who is believed to have been studying in Thailand, checked into the hotel alone on Sunday evening and the man checked in at 12.17am on Monday. They ordered food, which was delivered to their room at around 1.20am.

A member of staff at the hotel received a call from a guest who said they heard someone calling for help in the hallway at around 6:34 am on Monday morning, according to local media reports.

The male victim was later found lying in the hotel corridor, covered in blood.

Both the man and the woman, who were from different regions of China, were reportedly naked when they were found and it is not yet known if they were murdered or if they were involved in a suicide-murder pact.
