Comedian and TV star Katherine Ryan has been signed up as closing keynote speaker at this year’s World Travel Market London.

The Canadian will speak during a 45-minute fireside chat, ‘Katherine Ryan on resilience, breaking barriers and her global travel experiences’.

Katherine hosted Channel 4’s Joe & Katherine’s Bargain Holidays, where she partnered with fellow comic Joe Wilkinson to show viewers how to live the champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget in destinations such as Latvia, Montenegro and Wales.

WTM London Exhibition Director Juliette Losardo said: “I’m delighted that a star of Katherine’s calibre will be our closing keynote speaker. She promises to be hugely entertaining but also very thoughtful, with insights into the challenges and triumphs of women in the workplace – and practical advice for travel professionals on breaking through perceived barriers.

“Katherine will bring a truly international perspective to the stage with her understanding of different cultures, thanks to her background and experiences. I’m looking forward to hearing about her views on budget tourism compared to her passion for a more luxurious travelling experience.”

Katherine’s keynote speech will take place between 15.30 – 16.30 in the Yellow Theatre on Thursday 7 November, the last day of WTM.
