TUI is targeting a bigger share of the $100 billion tours market with the launch of a dedicated online tours brand.

The holiday giant said the TUI tours platform will enable travel agents to easily book group and individual tours online.

The platform has been launched in Belgium, ahead of an international roll out this year and into 2024.

TUI tours platform is a ‘single end-to-end system that enables sourcing, production, distribution and fulfilment of tours’, TUI added.

With real-time pricing and availability TUI tours ‘simplifies the previously complex process of building tours’, TUI said.

Individual and group tours in 30 countries, including destinations in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas, are already available.

The platform (pictured) replaces previously used local platforms.

TUI described the current tours market as ‘largely offline’ and ‘highly fragmented’ as it outlined how it was valued at $100bn, with an annual growth of 6%.

Peter Krueger, TUI Chief Strategy Officer, said growing TUI’s experiences product portfolio was ‘a key strategic priority’ for the company.

“The tours segment, in particular, is a sizeable and strongly growing market,” he said.

TUI confirmed to Travel Gossip the TUI tours platform would launch in the UK and Ireland but could not confirm when that would be.
