Travel Gossip has extended its portfolio with the addition of a daily industry news service, Travel Gossip News, which launches today.

Travel Gossip News will be a regular source of trustworthy news to keep readers updated on industry developments, while enabling Travel Gossip to offer a full-service marketing opportunity to brands wanting to reach frontline travel agents.

Heading up Travel Gossip News are Linsey McNeill and Lisa James, who have a combined 55 years’ experience of working as journalists in the industry. The pair began reporting on Travel Weekly in the mid-1990s, before embarking on successful freelance careers, writing for trade and consumer publications. Most recently they worked together on TravelMole, as Editor and Deputy Editor, respectively.

Travel Gossip News will take advantage of Travel Gossip’s existing large social media reach by delivering news in innovative ways such as Instagram Stories, Twitter Fleets, Clubhouse, Facebook ads and the Travel Gossip Facebook group, which has 23,000 active members.

A mid-morning Travel Gossip News email will go out five days a week, with the top travel stories that agents need to know about, delivered in an easy-to-read, no-nonsense style. Product announcements, destination updates and other longer reads will also feature on both the newswire and Travel Gossip News website, as well as light-hearted, fun stuff.

Bruce Martin

Travel Gossip Managing Director Bruce Martin said: “I’ve always been keen to develop the Travel Gossip brand into more of a comprehensive B2B media offering and news has been the missing piece of the puzzle.  Our social media marketing services are strong, but we’ve not been able to compete in the news and website space – until now.

“After discussing ideas with Linsey and Lisa, I knew the time was right for us to work together on an exciting venture that can offer value to the industry.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that travel is on the way back and that this is a fantastic time to invest in the business.”

Co-Editors Linsey and Lisa said: “We’re big fans of Travel Gossip and we’re excited to be involved in Travel Gossip News.

“When Bruce approached us about working with him, it was too good an opportunity to pass by.”

The investment in Travel Gossip News follows the recent appointment of Jessica Simpson to the newly created post of Business Development Manager earlier this year.

Travel Gossip is owned and managed by Ginger Juice, an award-winning social media agency specialising in travel and tourism.
