Applications are now open for Travel Counsellors’ 2024 Academy Scholarship Programme, which will give up to 10 graduates the opportunity to kickstart their own travel business.

Each successful graduate will win a place on the Travel Counsellors Academy, worth £10,000.

Applicants must submit a business plan, then pitch to a panel of experts at Travel Counsellors’ HQ in May.

Scholarship winners include a six-month training and onboarding programme; 10 days’ virtual classroom and six months ongoing training and a personal mentor.

They’ll also get 12 months’ membership to the Institute of Travel and Tourism (ITT) and Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), plus access to Travel Counsellors’ digital platform Phenix.

The scheme is a continuation of the initiative launched last year in partnership with the ITT’s Future You Foundation, in which two graduates won a place on programme. One, Emily Coles, has now set up as a Travel Counsellor.

This year, Travel Counsellors is running the scheme on its own, rather than in partnership with the ITT.

Director of Franchise Sales Matt Harding said: “We look forward to welcoming applicants and reviewing their travel business pitches.”

Applications close on 30 April 2024. Apply here.
