An industry initiative to auction off trips to raise money for Ukraine has kicked off.

The Travel For Ukraine auction lets people bid for over 50 holidays and stays, with all money going to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

The initiative was set up by The Healthy Holiday Company Founder and Managing Director Kathryn Brierley, who asked friends in the industry to get involved.

Industry players responded by donated trips worth £100,000, with more being added.

Kathryn said: “The response has been overwhelming and I know we have only scratched the surface with the potential for other lots to be added to the auction over the next week.

“I’m especially grateful for everyone’s support as all these businesses have been hit hard in the last couple of years by the pandemic.”

Travel For Ukraine attracted £45,000-worth of bids in the first 24 hours since launch.

The auction runs until 23:59 on Sunday 8 May when the winning bidders will be announced.
