Agent group TARGET is encouraging everyone to take part in a twitterstorm today, ahead of Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s appearance on GB News tonight.

Mr Sunak will be interviewed by broadcaster Andrew Neil from 8pm on the UK’s newest news channel, which launched on Sunday night.

He’ll be the first major political guests on GB News and said he was looking forward to the appearance.

TARGET Founders Graeme Brett and Jill Waite want members to tweet Mr Sunak, Mr Neil and GB News to highlight the need for financial help for the travel industry. They’re asking people to tweet regularly throughout the day for maximum exposure.

Mr Brett said: “This is a massive opportunity for us. Rishi Sunak is the first high-profile politician to appear on Andrew Neil’s new show.

“Until now, the travel trade bodies have been more reactive to stories and have responded to the media when the media has asked us for a comment.

“We should be setting the agenda and take a more proactive stance and influence the news.”

TARGET has asked the industry to tweet the following two messages, throughout the day:

The travel industry has been decimated yet we are denied targeted sector specific support. @afneil will you please stand up for the travel industry and challenge @RishiSunak to support us and save our businesses @GBNEWS @target40629875 #TargetTravelAgents

No holidays to sell. No income. Loans to repay. Furlough ending. Travel needs sector-specific support. @afneil please challenge @RishiSunak on @GBNEWS @target40629875 #TargetTravelAgents
