San Antonio in southern Texas sent its first ever overseas sales mission to the UK this week as it announced a bold move to attract 50% more UK visitors.
The UK, its largest overseas market, currently sends around 20,000 visitors a year, but the city is looking to attract a further 10,000 a year by 2025.
It recently appointed London-based TTM as its first ever overseas representatives, following the launch of it first branding campaign in a decade, Real and True, which focuses on its authentic historical, cultural and culinary attractions.
This week’s trade mission came ahead of its hosting of the international trade show IPW in May.
“This is San Antonio’s first overseas trade mission and it’s a really big deal,” said Visit San Antonio President and CEO Marc Anderson. “The UK is our biggest international market after Canada and Mexico and we believe that can grow.”
