A teenage boy has sadly died after falling from a Royal Caribbean ship on Saturday (25 November).
The 16-year-old was sailing on Allure of the Seas, and according to reports from US outlet TMZ, he fell from one of the ship’s interior Central Park View balconies and suffered extensive injuries. He later passed away in hospital.
The 5,496-passenger Allure of the Seas had departed on Friday night (24 November) from Fort Lauderdale in Florida for a three-night cruise to the Bahamas. The incident is not believed to have had an impact on the itinerary and the ship returned to port on Monday (27 November) as planned.
