The Desks for Reps scheme – organised by campaign group TARGET – is now operating, with 105 agencies offering a desk for reps on the road.
The scheme allows supplier reps to use a spare desk in agencies and offices to catch up on emails, messages and calls while they are out on trade visits.
One of the first to benefit from the scheme was Newmarket Holidays rep Gemma Walker, who used the spare desk at Westoe Travel, in South Shields, to catch up on her emails and messages.
Gemma said: “When I visit our travel agents in the North East, it is a two-hour drive home and too late to respond to agents before they close.
“Having the opportunity to answer emails and messages in this way helps us to support our travel agent partners promptly.
“We are so grateful to (founders) Graeme Brett and Jill Waite at TARGET for co-ordinating this fantastic scheme.”
