A man has been arrested by police investigating burglaries from hotel rooms in Majorca while guests slept in their beds.

The 48-year-old has been accused of robbing guests in at least four rooms in three different hotels in Palma of cash and mobile phones, netting more than €4,000.

At the time, guests were sleeping.

The burglaries are alleged to have taken place on 6 August, when police officers spotted and arrested the suspect on the beach, said the Majorca Daily Bulletin.

The thief has been dubbed ‘Spiderman’ as he scaled the walls of the hotels in the Playa de Palma to climb into the bedrooms.
