Staycation holiday specialist Caledonian Travel is looking for new sales staff to join its newest travel centre as it continues its expansion plans.

The company launched in July this year, when the former management team headed by Managing Director Graham Rogers and Commercial Director Martin Lock (pictured) acquired the brand following the collapse of parent company Specialist Leisure Group.

It offers short breaks and holidays throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe, with departure points in Scotland, Tyneside, Teesside, East and West Yorkshire.

In March, the Caledonian Travel secured a multi-million-pound investment and has since reopened its Glasgow Travel Centre.

Since then, it has opened a travel centre in Middlesbrough bus station and has signed the fifth member of its team this week.

Now it is searching for people to join its Wakefield Travel Centre, which is scheduled to open on October 1.

Commercial Director Martin Lock said he’s looking for a branch manager, assistant supervisor and sales and customer service staff. There are at least five positions available, but more can be taken on ‘if there is a deluge of good people’.

Mr Lock said: “After the success of reopening our Glasgow Travel Centre and also our new Middlesbrough Bus Station Travel Centre, we are delighted to announce a brand new Travel Centre opening in Wakefield Bus Station.

“We are busy developing our plans for opening. We are now looking for excellent people to join our team at Wakefield.

“We’re opening travel centres in high-volume transport hubs. We’re looking for people with a travel agency background as well as people who have experience in customer service.”

He added the company is looking at other opportunities. “We know there are some good candidates out there. We are a young business that is doing well. Hopefully we can offer opportunities to people that haven’t thought about working for a company such as ours.”
