Gibraltar has lifted almost all COVID restrictions, including the requirement to wear masks, even on public transport.
In an update to its travel advice, the Foreign Office said masks are now only required in health care settings and retirement homes.
Neighbouring Spain is also expected to ditch masks indoors shortly.
At a meeting of public health ministers in Spain today, the Director of the Centre for Health Alerts and Emergencies Fernando Simón said mask were ‘probably’ no longer needed in ‘most scenarios’.
Madrid’s Health Minister Enrique Ruiz Escudero called on the Spanish Government to drop the requirement to drop mask-wearing indoors.
Spain dropped masks outdoors last month.
President Armengol of the Balearics said the requirement for masks indoors should be abandoned ‘as soon as possible’.
