Norwegian Cruise Line’s ship Norwegian Sun has had to alter its itinerary after hitting an iceberg in Alaska.
The ship has skipped a planned port of call at Skagway and is heading to Juneau to assess damage.
NCL confirmed its ship made contact with a small iceberg due to dense fog on Saturday, during a nine-night itinerary from Seattle.
An NCL spokesperson told Cruise Hive: “On June 25, 2022 while transiting to Hubbard Glacier in Alaska, Norwegian Sun was engulfed by dense fog, limiting visibility and resulting in the ship making contact with a growler [small iceberg].
“The ship remains fully operational and is currently on its way to Juneau, Alaska for assessment.”
