TV’s Dr Michael Mosley has gone missing on the Greek island of Symi, prompting a search-and-rescue mission.
A local Facebook group shared an appeal for the medic, after he failed to return after a walk on Wednesday.
His wife reportedly raised the alarm and the 67-year-old’s agent confirmed his disappearance to the Press Association.
The Facebook group post says: “Have you seen this man? He set off to walk back from St Nick’s at about 13.30 and failed to make it home. His friends are concerned as it is 6 hours since they last saw him.
“His name is Dr Mike Mosley and he is a familiar face for many British people as he has appeared on the BBC.”
The post was updated on Thursday to say a search-and-rescue team was due to arrive on the island around 1pm local time, ‘with drones and other more sophisticated equipment to extend the search’.
At 2pm local time, the post was updated to say ‘very little worthwhile information has been forthcoming’.
Police, firefighters and coastguard resumed the search on Friday after the operation was paused on Thursday night.
Dr Mosley has appeared on TV programmes including Channel 4, Secrets of Your Big Shop and, is the host of the Just One Thing health podcast for the BBC and developed the Fast 800 diet.
