Dubai-based tour specialist Expat Sport is offering UK agents commission of 15% on a specially created football package for supporters wanting to experience this winter’s FIFA World Cup tournament.
The ‘Football Fans Dubai Experience’ has been created in partnership with the premium NH Dubai The Palm hotel, and gives guests the chance to enjoy matches in official fan zones – complete with bars – as well as including flights to neighbouring Qatar to take in games live.
Three possible trip durations are on offer during the tournament from 21 November to 18 December – a four-night night package (with one return flight to Doha); and eight-night package (with two return flights) and a 12-night package (three return flights). Prices are $1,290pp, $2,580pp and $3,870pp respectively on a bed-and-breakfast basis.
Expat Sport executive director Sue Holt said the packages had been developed for agents looking to make the most of the World Cup, especially given the ‘specific’ needs of football fans compared to typical holidaymakers. Being able to drink in Dubai’s official fan zones is in marked contrast to what is likely to happen in Qatar. So far, the strict Muslim host nation has been unclear how it will cater for football fans wanting a traditional pre-match beer.
“This is a completely new addition to the Dubai hospitality landscape, and we are collaborating with the official partners of the FIFA World Cup 2022 to make this a unique and immersive experience for our guests,” said Holt.
“There will be international fans who are coming to this region for the first time, so being in a relaxed environment, with other like-minded individuals, in a stunning location on the Palm Dubai should make this an enjoyable and unforgettable holiday.”
Fans staying at the hotel will receive supporter welcome packs, tickets and discounts to Dubai-based fan zones and enjoy sports challenges and competitions throughout their stays. The hotel’s on-site sports bar will be transformed into a Budweiser fan zone with special guest appearances throughout the tournament.
