Ryanair has restored its direct flights to Barcelona from Newcastle International Airport.

The airline says it reacted to feedback from the North East travelling public for the route to be restored.

It is operating a twice weekly service to the popular sun and city break destination.

Ryanair Director of Aviation Development Leon McQuaid,  said: “Ryanair now serve 22 sun and city destinations from Newcastle International Airport, which include popular destinations such as Wroclaw, Fuerteventura, Malaga and Gran Canaria.”

Flights to Barcelona from Newcastle International Airport began on November 1 and are now on sale from £19.99.
