Not Just Travel consultant Ami Wood made over £50,000 worth of bookings in her first week of trading.

Ami, who finished training with the company on 7 January – and has never worked in travel before – booked over £17,000 in one day alone.

Since then, Ami, from Cannock in Staffs, has seen her sales go up to £75,000.

Before joining Not Just Travel’s Travel Franchise, she spent 22 years in admin and accounts and took her first travel enquiry before she’d even started training with the company.

Ami has helped Not Just Travel achieve a record for the most passengers booked in one day.

Not Just Travel said sales on ‘Blue Monday’ 17 January were three times greater than Blue Monday last year.

Co-Founder Steve Witt said: “Monday was a record day for us in terms of passenger booking numbers, including every year before the pandemic started.

“The average booking value was £5,000 and so people are spending more. Customers are also making faster decisions to buy their holiday now, as summer availability is beginning to get limited.”

Ami said: “I’ve been on my laptop from early morning into late evening as it’s so busy.

“I’ve had fantastic support and training from The Travel Franchise ready for this time and I’m loving my job. I can’t wait to start each day. This is the best decision I’ve ever made.”

The success led to a message of congratulations from Hays Travel Chief Operating Officer Jonathon Woodall-Johnston.

Not Just Travel is a member of the Hays Travel Independence Group.

Mr Woodall-Johnston said: “Not Just Travel’s extraordinary sales figures have impressed us all; so much so that I felt I had to pick up the phone to congratulate Steve and the team.

“They are a credit to our industry as their unique business model proves that close relationships with clients and trade suppliers generates loyal customers who are happy to spend.”

Not Just Travel said over 50% of bookings are for summer departures.

The most popular destinations booked yesterday were short haul, with the Canary Islands, Turkey and Greece leading the way.
