Riviera Tours praised agents as it announced the launch of three 10-night cruises and a new concierge service.

Chief Customer Officer Simon Michaelides said bookings for 2023 were ‘off to a flying start, targets have been well-exceeded, thanks to our partner support’.

He said trade bookings are a third ahead of Riviera’s targets and revenue through the trade is up 25% on 2019, he said. Also, bookings through the trade are £285 a head higher than direct sales.

Overall, Riviera’s average selling price is up 45% on 2019 and revenue is up 9%, he added.

The company has launched three new 10-night cruises following the success of its first 10-night trip last year, which sold out.

The new cruises are Cologne, the Rhine Gorge and Medieval Germany; Paris, Normandy & Historic Treasures of the Seine, and The Moselle, Luxembourg & The Majestic Rhine.

Riviera has also rolled out its new Travel Concierge service for its river cruise programme, following a ‘soft launch’ late last year. It gives customers the flexibility to change their departure airport or airline or add on extras such as airport pickups and additional nights, for an additional fee.

Chief Operating Officer Robin Shaw said: “Increasingly customers want a little bit more flexibility and now we can give people the option to slightly change their itinerary for a small additional charge, which will depend on the booking.”
