The most popular 2023 holidays among customers of Personal Travel Consultants in Partnership with Blue Bay Travel have been revealed.

PTC saw overall sales between January-March up 60% on the same period in 2019, with Spain accounting for 11.5% of all bookings in the first quarter of the year and Greece its second strongest performer, accounting for almost 10% of all bookings in Q1.

Third on the best-seller list is cruises, with MSC Cruises’ Northern European itineraries from Southampton the top seller in the category.

PTC says it’s just had its best first-quarter performance so far, with many high-value transactions, including a massive £79,000 Caribbean booking.

Sales Manager Abbie Heaton said: “Building on a resurgence in popularity first noted in March 2022, in the past couple of months cruise has again been a top choice for our homeworkers’ customers, with MSC’s Northern Europe sailings from Southampton taking the top spot for most booked holiday overall, and ‘cruise’ also featuring third, behind Spain and Greece, in our most booked destinations – it’s clearly booming.

“Cruise companies continue to offer good incentives for agents, as well as hugely competitive deals for customers and, for many, it also ticks the ‘bucket list’ box.”

During the first three months of the year, PTC’s top performer, Polly Gould, generated a record £500,000 in revenue.

Abbie added: “Polly took a single booking to Barbados with a value of £79,000 as well as a further six that were each worth over £10,000.

“Personal Travel Consultant Rebecca Bagnoli has also brought in some exceptional sales, including a number of £10,000+ bookings for European holidays.

“We have seen our best first quarter to date thanks to the hard work of our agents and in-house support team, which is an excellent indicator of the renewed appetite for travel and confidence in booking through agents.”
