Princess Cruises President John Padgett revealed the UK has become the second biggest market for its newest ship during a party for agents onboard the Sun Princess in Southampton.
Thanking travel agents for their support, John also revealed that the UK – the cruise line’s third largest market overall – is broadening the market for Princess since British guests are generally ‘younger and more active’.
Vice President UK and Europe Eithne Williamson said Alaska was showing particularly strong growth from the UK and reminded guests that the cruise line’s next ship, Star Princess, will offer Alaska cruises during its debut summer season in 2026.
During the party onboard Sun Princess, which called at Southampton for the first time at the weekend at the end of its inaugural Mediterranean season, travel agents were treated to a performance by singer Sam Ryder and a DJ set by Scott Mills.
The ship is now heading to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for its inaugural Caribbean season.
